GS4C will make a presentation on basalt composites and other sustainable materials for the boat building at the summit taking place in Genoa.
During the Innovation Workshop, part of the Ocean Race Summit, to be held on the 20th September 2019, GS4C will present technologies and sustainable solutions for fostering the transition to circular economy.
The materials that the presentation covers include fully recyclable enriched basalt fiber Filava (the presentation).
Ocean race Summits – international series of events that are held with the aim to bring together leaders from sport, politics, science to advance efforts in restoring ocean health. These summits have become an integral part of the Ocean Race, a prestigious round-the-world sailing race.
The conference in Genoa will focus on the vital role that business has to play in stemming the flow of plastic into our seas. The workshops challenges the industry leaders and experts to develop new manufacturing processes not affecting the world ocean. The topics to be considered in Genoa: “Sustainable fashion and textiles” and “Sustainable boat building”.
Amer Yachts, a well-known yacht builder, is supporting the switch from glass fiber to basalt fiber, entering into cooperation agreement with GS4C.
